customersEnergus – Lillyhall, West Cumbria Lakeland Office is celebrating a £100,000 contract with Cumbria's new £20 million training academy Energus. Lakeland, based at Penrith, is working with partners including John Dyson, the Energus' operations director to equip the new facilities ready for its first students. Lakeland Officepoint's director, Tony Burton, said: "We have worked with other companies in the energy sector in the past but our first contact with Energus was about 18 months ago when we supplied furnishings for a meeting room at short notice. "That worked in our favour and we were asked to tender for two phases of the main academy. "We were successful and supplied desks and seating as well as training room and classroom furniture in phase one. "We are about to complete phase two within schedule and budget soon." In total, Lakeland Officepoint has supplied over 350 chairs and 130 desks and tables as well as flipcharts, notice boards, clocks, cabinets and many other furniture items. Sales manager for Lakeland Officepoint, John Carruthers, said: "In many ways, Energus has been a bigger scale version of our usual local contracts but there have also been unusual elements such as the specially fitted computer work stations for the CAD (Computer Aided Design) suite and our team is also working on the installation of office partitioning. "It has been great to work on such a big local contract and to prove that we can compete with national companies on price, on range and on reliability and service. "The team at Energus has been working to tight timescales so that the academy is ready and we have been able to support them in meeting those deadlines." John Dyson at Energus has been particularly impressed by the service and support from Lakeland Officepoint. "We have a brief to use local suppliers as much as possible but still within the cost and time constraints of a major project," he said. "Tony, John and the team have been able to supply exactly what we needed at each stage." Magnox North – Chapelcross Power Station, Dumfriesshire “Lakeland Office based in Penrith has supplied Chapelcross
Power Station with our entire furniture requirement for over 6 months
now. Cumbria County Council – Carlisle, Cumbria “Lakeland Office have supplied Cumbria County Council since 2005, on the basis of a core range of products. They have given excellent service and there have never been any complaints.” – S. Stockley, Procurement Officer, Cumbria County Council Eden District Council – Penrith, Cumbria The offices for the council’s Corporate and Legal Services departments were being renovated and Lakeland Office was asked to supply new office furniture. These offices included the switchboard and a reception area open to the public so these areas could not be closed during the working week. The office furniture had to be installed over a weekend. “Just to make the task a little more difficult, we brought the date for the re-decoration forward but Lakeland Office still managed to provide a fantastic service. They delivered the new furniture on a Friday then, over the weekend, they removed the old furniture, assembled and installed the new furniture, and returned all the computer workstations and personal belongings to the appropriate desks. By Monday morning, we were fully operational again.” – Christine Johnson, Corporate Services Manager, Eden District Council. Stobart Rail (formerly WA Developments Ltd) – Appleby, Cumbria WA Developments was established in 1993 and over the last few years has been increasingly focusing on major projects for the rail industry. The company began purchasing office supplies from Lakeland Office in 2003, when they found that Lakeland could be competitive on price with major national suppliers. “We were pleasantly surprised to find that a local supplier could not only offer extremely competitive prices but also provide a very fast response to our requirements. Our orders are generally delivered before 9.00 a.m. on the day after we place the order – and we sometimes receive the goods on the same day just a few hours after ordering! We would have no hesitation recommending Lakeland Office to other Cumbrian businesses seeking a local supplier of office supplies and equipment.” - Mike Robinson, Purchasing Manager, WA Developments Ltd. HMB Alliance (a joint venture of Harbour & General, Morgan Est and Barhale) - Preston, Lancashire HMB Alliance is a joint venture of three businesses operating as a contractor to United Utilities and completing major civil engineering projects. Over a three year period, the business purchased stationery, photocopiers and business equipment to a value of over £350,000 from Lakeland Office, for use in 25 sites ranging from Carlisle in the north to Chorley in the south. “Lakeland Office delivered the service we needed. In addition
to having the right equipment, they organised the leasing deal to finance
this substantial level of purchases. And the service didn’t stop
when the equipment had been delivered – they provided support
across all our sites to keep the machines working.” - Simon
